    Dare I say without getting flammed for being an animal lover a step in the right direction I feel.

    A step in the right direction!

    Consumers offen don't realise how much power they have. Every time we buy a product we're voting for it...hence the opposite is also true - which has the power to change the way food is produced.

    Laughed until I cried about how Coles would "absorbed" the extra cost.

    Yeah, for about a day, the Aussie beef farmer will discover that if he doesn't supply the meat at the pittance that Coles offers then Coles will look else for the supply.
    Overseas.
    How do you like your steak? Mad, Foot&Mouth or Anthraxed?

    Yep and maybe one day they will change them too..just because everything has some sort of additive i it that is not good for us does not mean its right to continue.

    Only need to look at the sale (or rather the non sale) of caged eggs in the UK.
    Non of the major supermarket chains sell caged eggs.

    A sure win for consumers voting with their feet, or should that be money?
