Juddy, Thanks mate! Some very cool pics there.
    Your work?
Some great shots of the usually unseen action around the place.

Anybody have info on the new AUSCAMS in some of the shots?
I reckon the operators love the lightweight designs suitable for Vest/ chest rig wearing. combination of light technical T shirt and cam on the most visible areas (shot of 2 operators with small rise in the middle distance)
    Cool.
SF 4x4s are SRV's (Surveillance Recon Vehicle) basically an RFSV (Regional Forces Surveillance Vehicle) Truck, Surveillance MC2 with winch) with 2 rear facing seats instead of 1, an extended rear roll cage with gun ring, rear mounted spares as opposed to either side of the rear pax(on ops these are mounted forward of the doors as added protection).
Based on GS110 with additional mods.

    Hey BBC,

I was in the RAAF in the days when they had CH-47, UH-1H and very briefly S70A.

I've seen plenty of Chinooks recover other Chinooks....what's changed?

Are you talking specifically about Afghanistan?.....as I know that extreme conditions eg, altitude and heat are a big rotary wing performance issue.

    Cheers,

    Kev.

from what i understand, between altitude and the increased armour being used on the Chinooks, they are no longer capable of recovering another one
