    Wonnangatta River Dargo

Was just getting off from Wonnangatta Rd and airing up and a bloke in a D2 stopped to see if I was OK.

SWMBO was dumbstruck by this Landy norm, thinking it only extended to a wave!

So not sure if it was anyone on this forum but I wanted to voice a big thanks just for stopping. It is always reassuring to know that as long as you are in the Landy someone will stop.

    See you on tracks.

we stopped today on the dargo high plains rd for a broken 75 series being towed buy another 75 series, they were fine, i was just being polite.
by the time we got to the bottom of the hill, we had no brakes.
And wifey was steering, she pooped herself (not literally)

Not a good thing to happen! Was it brake fade?

My problem was the temp was reaching a 100 Degress C on some of the longer hills. It didn't go above that but I think the radiator might be the cause although others have said 100 Degrees is not at all bad in a 15PSI system.

While on the Wonnangatta river three Prado drivers stopped near our campsite and it was smugness all the way with comments like "don't start a Land Rover discussion" and the "Prado handled the Billy Goat Bluff track like a highway". They only did it going down, which I pointed out was pretty easy and that maybe they should try it going up!

Yes I heard it had been graded quite extensively. Shame as i would have liked it a bit more challenging.

Had some inexperienced 4WDers so was probably good. But you are right the view from the fire lookout is awesome
