    Convoy for Heroes

Thought this may be of some interest to forumites:

Convoy for Heroes is an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest Land Rover convoy, previously set at Towcester race course in the UK on 18 Apr 2004 (260 vehicles). They are aiming to have a convoy of 500 or more Land Rovers, on the 2011 Easter weekend at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Details on the website http://www.convoy4heroes.org.uk/index.html

The aim is to raise money for those injured while serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.

    Cheers

Please don't take this as a hijack, but as opposed to a 'Convoy of Heroes', have you seen this 'Highway of Heroes'?

I defy you to keep a dry eye. And it's not a one-off either. This happens every time apparently.

I took part in that original convoy in Towcester I have a very nice plaque, certificate and photos that I was presented with after the event.
It was a very good day only spoiled by the "bloody english weather" ....rain

I do believe that the record was beaten by an attempt in africa.

Maybe we should organize one here in Australia and set another new record
