My sisters car stated running a bit rough the other day so she took it up to the local mechanic who diagnosed a dodgie Air flow meter
Now i dont know much about cars but thought Ford AU 6cyl falcons ran a map sensor not an AFM

Yes you are correct. AU Falcons have MAP's.
Did the car backfire recently? That will normally cause the MAP to fail.
Does your sister live close-by? Do you know where it is fitted, and what it looks like?
If so, get one off ebay or local wrecker and fit it yourself. Lots of $$$$ saved.

6 cyl runs MAP, V8 runs MAF. Check the vacuum hoses for the heater and MAP on the back of the manifold, common to fall off. In case of LPG also check the PCV hose is fitted to the IAC valve on top of the throttle body.
