G'day Terry, one of the reasons The Duke may be better is that a 2002-2004 model is not going to really drop in value. Sure, you pay a little more now but wont drop nearly as much as some others.......please point out if I am way off here..

Believe it or not a 2009 + model Hyosung 650 water cooled V-Twin would be a far better buy all round then a Ducati 620 if you want reliable transport

and you should trade your Landy on on a Hyundai while you are at it. :

and they are one hell of a lot ...more fun to ride.

At the risk of offending or starting a war with any Ducati owners on the site, they are over rated and extremely expensive for what you get.

Depends what you want though eh?

If you want a bike you can sit and look at and say "I own that" with a real feeling of satisfaction - buy a Duke (or Guzzi or Triumph)

If you want a bike thats made of plastic and that you never look at with pride.. then sure a Hyosung thing will provide transport.

If your hell bent on a Duke then the 620 would be the pick of a ordinay bunch and be prepared for a very slow bike.

Very slow in comaprison to a rice rocket perhaps but still fast enough to keep you happy and you may not feel an instant need to upgrade when you get your open licence.

I would say though that Ductai owners and Land Rover owners have at least one thing in common they are both usually fanatical about their brands.

Hyosungs are the Toyota, the "whitegood" of the motorcycle world.

Oh and forums wise "Two Wheels" used to be good. It's pretty much degenerated into a slanging match these days unfortunately.

You will not be disappointed with a monster. Ducati's have so much soul and are very rewarding to own.
