Most Australian's are now employed in the service sector, this includes shops like Harvey Norman, your local ARB dealer etc. etc. and yes we as Australian's have a very high standard of living compared to most of even the western world because our wages and holiday pay, health care, pensions etc are so good.
Think about this the more people who buy OS the fewer local jobs there will be and the whole thing becomes this vicious circle of ever declining returns. I wonder how many people buy OS who have a job selling products to the public that can be brought on line from overseas? I wonder if they will see the irony if they lose thier jobs because not enough people are buying local?
I'm not saying people shouldn't buy OS, all I'm saying is that if we all do it enough then sooner or later many of us won't have jobs to pay for the cheap OS goods we so much like to purchase and save money on.
The world is changing on many fronts including international inline shopping and I don't think the public or the politicians have thought this through to the logical end game extremely well just yet.
cheers,
Terry
