While very minor in comparison to the QLD floods, spare a thought for flooded regions of Victoria.
Many towns have been inundated and evacuated. Many towns are expected to be without power for three or more days.
As an example, the flood peak (Wimmera River) in Horsham is expected to reach 3.85 metres. The most recent flood event at that height was in 1909! It is about half a metre or more higher than the river levels in September of last year.
Here are a few pics taken last night and this morning. This morning we went through flood water to collect stuff from a friends place. His house shouldn't go under, but he was told to evacuate or be stranded.
I have recently done some extensive splash proofing of the Range Rover ignition system with good results.
I have used an old mudflap as a shield in front of the distributor and I have also sealed the distributor cap to the distributor body with waterproof grease / o ring lubricant.
I also used the same stuff to seal the AFM plug and prior to water crossings I spray the distributor and ignition module with RP7 or similar.
So far I have done quite a few longish crossings at bullbar / headlight depth with no missfires and last weekend I had water over the bonnet with no dramas.
