You can be friends with somebody but not see much (or anything) they are up to depending on their security settings. So you might be looking at someone's page and think they have not been up to much, but in fact they are blocking a lot of what you can see. You can customize your security settings so only you, you & friends or even friends of friends can see what you are up to.

See also the current issue of APC Mag (Australian Personal Computer) Feb 2011 p 18 for more on the "simplified" fb privacy settings.

I've noticed in the sidebar a notice asking me if I'm interested in a Facebook member - not a friend request. The only way I could work out that their names would be connected to mine - no Facebook contacts in common - is if they had searched my name.

Evidently, Facebook, My Space & Twitter are soon to merge...

this list is generally created based on friends of friends
Normally if you click on one you will have a friend in common eg. your sister and they're your sister's co-worker or some such but you have no clue who they are.

in the search bar in the middle up the top just type in aulro and it will pop up
