    The Navy list is not complete, addition as follows;

    Open screen door to check outside temp., if too hot return to air conditioned comfort

    Make sure name is down for beer issue [the Big Boss has an issue with that, but what he doesn't know wont hurt him]

    Remember to give thanks you are in the Navy, and not slogging it out ashore somewhere. [and give silent thanks to those who are]

    I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

    A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    When I was a young fellow I worked with a number of WW2 veterans and even a few WW1 diggers who were still hanging on in the workforce. One guy was a Tobruk Rat and New Guinea veteran. He reckoned if he had his choice again it would have been to go to war as a Blue Orchid. He noted that the RAAF lived in huts, not holes in the ground, got hot meals instead of cans of bully or M&V accompanied by hard tack biscuits, kept office hours and objected strongly to after-hours call outs and working in inclement weather.

    The Army sleeps under the stars

    The Navy navigates by the stars

    The Air Force chooses it's hotel by the stars

    And yes, we did get grumpy if the fire bells dropped in the middle of our basketball game, dinner, movie..... cause some NCO decided that he wanted some tucker & couldn't be bothered walking to the mess.

    BTW - I will have you know that Air Force personnel didn't live a life of luxary. There were times where we had to stay in 3 star hotels. I mean, what is with that????
