Anyone familiar with Iluka region?
Going to Iluka next week and will be doing some beach fishing.
Probably main beach. Is anyone familiar with the area?
Is the surface ok to drive near the water line?
Any other 4wd action down there?
Does anyone know where you can buy a beach permit and a NSW fishing liscence? Many thanks in advance

Not sure about the beach driving at the moment, it's been a couple of years since I have been there, you can buy the fishing licence on line if you want or all the local tackle shops will have them.

Check out Bundjalung National Park site. Good idea to get a National parks permit too, the carparks to access the beach from Woody Head and north are all in the park. Rangers have a field day "pingin" Qld plated vehicles not displaying a permit.
Been a while since I have, think they still let you drive the beach. Access just south of Woodburn all the way to just north of Woody Head.
Get back to you on that one.
Cheers,
Tod.

According to this Beach | Nsw | Ten Mile Beach - Shark Bay it's still a goer to drive the beach.
Fishing is AAA too!
