G'day Garry,
I was talking about the Cat, made the loose connection between the American boat which was beach-able and the Cat that was converted, used in Timor.
I was just wondering if the craft that the white paper mooted would be something that was already available in oz, or weather the whole cat thing was a bit of "all flash, no substance" event?

Currently sitting in Falmouth, having a refit, and is getting twin hangers, which will be a good thing for Australian service.

I agree - as a minimum not quite the bargain we were expecting. This always happens when their is Government interference in ship purchases - in 20years time it will be the Navy's fault that this ship does not do what we wanted - not the politicians who thrust it upon us.Quote:

I was working in Force Development (Sea) on the functional development team for the new purpose built ships when the decision was made at political level to cancel the Training Helicopter and Support Ship program and go with the US ships.
