I've had a couple of new ones lately, not in my main email account, but in a webmail one that I use any time I have to give out my email address.
The first ones claim to come from DHL and from UPS about failed deliveries. I was not expecting any deliveries and the address of the recipient in the header is not mine. How come it arrives in my mail box if the "To:" address is not mine?
The second one was to advise me that a sum of money had been fraudulently withdrawn from my Visa account. There were two suspicious things about that. One was that there had been no withdrawals from my account and the other was that I have never had that much money available in that account anyway.
I assume that there was some link that I was supposed to click on that would take me to some bogus site that would try to get personal details from me. Needless to say, I didn't do that.
Anyone else had anything similar?

Not Able to Deliver UPS Package Malware Email
I've had them from the Commonwealth and ANZ banks, PayPal, an online pharmacy offering Viagra and several others.
Yeah, I've had a couple of the "failed package delivery" ones too. As I wasn't expecting anything, they just got deleted, and added to the spam list.
If youre in the job market a scam has developed there. You receive a job notification telling you of a high paying UK oil/gas maintenance position(or smilar) and that they had see your resume on the Seek/Careers lists, inviting you to apply. They send a typical big business application with all the HR questions about interpersonal relationships etc.when you reply they send you back a confirmation email stating that you have short listed, requesting your personal details for pay system, bank a/c numbers, all the stuff like super fund authorities that a formal application requires. If you send it, BINGO.....they've got the lot. I stumbled over this one while job searching. If you're jobseeking, BEWARE!
