About 4 years ago we had a fellow come into the shop, looking for agents to sell his new invention. Was basically that design, but all self contained. He built it to keep possums away.

i could use the set up for opossums, skunks and stray cats from the yard here. i live in the city and still have to deal with these creatures...

i use a Barreta replica BB gun to help with the problem (just to scare them ) lately...

my air gun is 500+FPS and accurate so "just scaring" them is pretty easy...

Muahahaha be even better with one of those hose nozzles that also sucks fertiliser or degreaser...could add a nice dash of turps, PVA glue or acrylic paint to the mix.

Pity my folks are trying to promote wildlife in the backyard, the collateral would be too great to build solely for pest pet cats.

My 1yo daughter is wondering why I am laughing so much...clearly she hasn't inherited my cat-agoric dislike of these creatures...yet.

Ha Ha. Reminds me of a story Dad told me years ago.

When he was a kid, living in Waterfall Gully, he found a flyblown possum. The thing could barely move, and was struggling to make its way around.

He felt so sorry for it, he ran home, grabbed the fly-spray, and gave the possum a full blast all over the back end.

He says the possum took off like a rocket, into the scrub.

He found it dead 2 days later, sitting with it's butt in the creek.

But I couldn't eat one on my own.
