Well I know it's not quite broken down at the start but by #4 it's pretty shagged.

Obviously I should have said 'Australian Land Rover owners' I stand corrected.

    cheers,

I've got a theory that Disco afficionados in particular, and LR owners out of tribal loyalty, are actually jealous of the Pajero, because its bigger inside, longer wheelbase, is heaps more reliable, handles better on-road and was first produced when LR could only offer cramped, harsh-riding 1948-designed road & farm 'tractors'... or the overpriced (though very good) Range Rover. Nothing at all for Mr Normal-Income.

But the Pajero filled the gap neatly, with a longer wheelbase, more comfortable, boringly reliable part-time 4WD that could be safely driven at highway speeds and did'nt drink fuel like an American tank...

    - Just look at all the differant 'Pajeros' now, Prado, jeep, Navarra, discos 1 & 2....

My '89 Paj diesel is still going strong, and for 2WD stuff I have every confidence that it'll get me there AND back. - Can't feel the same about my 95 Vogue SE Rangie, despite it co$ting me over 5 times the price and a mere 158K's.

Besides, I don't go around corners any faster or better in my 2WD Rangie than my Paj...

Anyway, you'll always see more hoons carving up the beaches in ToyoSans 'cos the LR is undeniably so much softer/better and does'nt go as fast & noisy as they do!

    Cheers,

    James.

...and the 2WD Pajero steers better than the 2WD Rangie, which in turn is a bit more civilised than when it was an AWD...

    I have read it again.

I don't know of a 4WD club owned by one person! They are usually formed by the mutual coming together of like-minded people, who form a club, register it, frame a constitution, elect office-bearers etc, etc.

    ??????

I will throw my two bobs worth in here as well.
I can't understand why there was a need to abuse Pajero owners, that was exactly the kind of attitude displayed by those in the vids.

As for the Pajero = tosser comment, ignorant fool, in some spanish speaking countries it is close to a coloquialism of that for sure but it's true meaning is more like "carter of hay" in it's literal form, hard enough to understand I suppose but then it was named by Japanese not Spanish and for all you know may be a japanese word meaning " filling the gap between defender and range rover" I mean for crying out loud if you were trying to sell a car to the world would you call it "******" geez wake up man.

I will also point out that those pajs were so bloody tough, did you note the lack of apparent damage to the door after that pajero - read - tosser, took to it with the shovel. and the tosser who jumped on the roof hurt his legs.

Yes I used to own one, it was my first fourbe and all the tojo and nissan drivers used to knock it and every hill was called Pajero hill because they couldn't climb it but mine did. It was tough, reliable and quite capable for what it was, as someone else pointed out, all the other manufacturers ended up copying it's undercarriage design, even the H3 hummer is a Pajero.

Back to the original track of this thread, what the hell did that inanimate, burned out Pajero do to that moron in the Patrol, he was a man posessed !

God knows what he would have done if it was a Land Rover he came across.
