The inaugural Ironman 4 x 4 Adventure Challenge WA promises five days of tough and exciting 4WD racing in the Esperance-Balladonia-Norseman area in June.

This is a CCDA event scheduled for 20-26 June. Vehicles competing in Off Road Production 4WD Class and Extreme 4WD Class would be eligible.

Many events in all sports include the word “Challenge” in their name but in this case the rules and program for the Ironman 4 x 4 Adventure Challenge WA will ensure that all competitors are tested, taxed, stretched, strained, challenged – and a whole lot more!.

Competitors need to be self sufficient for the five days of racing. No support/service crew. All tools, spares, food, clothes and camping gear must be carried in the vehicle throughout the competition. And over the five days crews will be challenged with sand dune driving, high speed station tracks, GPS navigational stages, mud, winching, technical 4WDriving, hill climbs and, in some Stages, a combination of all these.

The entry fee for the five days of racing is a very reasonable $1500. The Ironman starts and finishes at Esperance, 725km south east of Perth. The event will cover about 1000km including Special Stages. But more importantly there will be at least four hours of racing each day and some days will include night Stages.

A Logbook Day will be held in Perth on Saturday 16 April 2011.
