Getting to spend my first Birthday in 45 years with my Dad's family today, which is a nice bonus.

Actually did a few touristy things yesterday too, so here are a few more pics of beautiful Acadie....these pics are from Grand Pre, where the Acadian peoples were deported (by the colonist British) to New Orleans (and other areas). This is how the Cajun traditions were born in the southern Americas....

Finally caught up with you Dan, or is it Kat's way of getting a head start on the beer?

Really getting to know Grandpa now. How wonderful to discuss philosophy, beyond the bounds of the "Soapbox"!

After taking turns reciting poems from a published book written by our familiy's female members, we examined a mathematical sequence using Grandpa's own invented logic blocks, before he fell asleep.....He seemed quite satisfied with my solutions though!

And tonight we are having a family feast, celebrating my return to the Dienes fold, before heading for Cape Breton to hike and camp out. And this is very special country, so should be quite a treat. Then, we're heading to Canso NS to attend a Celtic/Folk music festival, before returning home. Missing my Rovers though - it's all Jeeps here....

I only ever met my maternal Grandad as a youngster and only for a couple of years.
