    Another Theft story....

    Hi all,
    A couple of weeks ago we had our laptops, camera & a few other little items stolen from in our house.
    The family was asleep in our home. We have a set of French doors that open up next to where the dog sleeps. On the inside is a small chair that the pc's sit on & charge.
    The camera from memory was on the kitchen table.

    It's funny that it was our fault so to speak that the rear door was left open (when I used to live in the country the house was left open) & that's how the insurance company saw it
    The next morning I noticed the side gate opened, it now has a padlock
    The dog has been questioned as to why she didn't make any noises, she didn't respond as usual apart from the obligatory lick across the face.

    But the family is safe & it is only personal items that was taken & no one was harmed. Was hard to keep in touch electronically as we had to wait & order some items to be replaced.

    But I now have a replacement IPad2 which I like, it's a cool piece of kit.
    So I have now answered a heap of questions that were sitting in the PM section.

    So handy tip, lock up your back door as the cheeky little shmucks will intrude & take what they want. Bastards.

    Not a nice feeling but at least the family sounds fine.

    I take it there are no clues as to who it might have been?

    Sorry to hear about that sniegy but at least you and your family are okay but it must leave you with a rotten violated sort of feeling though.

    The insurance aspect has me wondering though. I always thought that if the house was unattended then it had to be locked up or the insurrance was void. But- if you or the people who normally reside there were in attendance [regardless of what they were doing] then the house and its contents were covered.

    We have reported to the Police that we have seen few vehicles that have been around just watching, so this has increased Police presence around, we just get a squad vehicle patrolling more often which is good t see.

    No clues, nothing left behind etc. So will remain a mystery & the neighbors have been warned also.

    Yes it is a shocking feeling to know that someone was in your own home @ night time.
    Were covered, but just the way they make you feel is infuriating!

    The main thing is that no one was hurt.

    In some Asian countries (like Malaysia) the burglars don't just come and knock off stuff quietly. They are usually armed with knives and for some reason, these sickos maim and injure people before leaving. So they are not just thieves but also malicious characters.

    Shame about the laptop and camera, etc. Those things can be replaced.

    Just don't leave the iPad2 lying around, and consider sending the dog to K9 school....

    Word of warning. Not wanting to cause you concern however had my laptop nicked not so long ago. Police here warned that we needed to be vigilent. Seems it is often the case there is a second break in a few weeks later. This was to pinch the new gear the insurance provided.

    unfortunately that is more often the case then we would like to admit.
    we had a prowler last week and the dog next door didn't bark wich is unusual, it was the neighbors teenage riveted faced son.

    120 KG of naked me holding him by his flowing locks banging on his parents door at 1am. feel sorry for the perants, thay know whats hes like.

    luckily i had LR bits strategically cast about down the side of the house. crack shin on wheel ramp, fall over BFG AT 33X12.5X15, get head stuck in home made disco roof rack
