The alpine lights were introduced with the 107 wagon to prevent the feeling of claustrophobia due to the high seating position, and have been used as a Landrover trade mark ever since, whether of any use or not.

They both had them. Did they both come out about 1956? I think only the deluxe 86 had them though.:confused:

That's one hell of a HF antenna!
Not too sure about the roof top tent though.....I prefer canvas to thatching:p
One thing though in the computer model lose the puma bulge in the bonnet of the nex-gen defender and put twin snorkels/twin smaller bulges feeding the 3.0 tdv6:D And for fun put a winch in the series recess.
That's going on MY Christmas list, to be kept in packaging.
As for the lights, it's like a convertible in Australia. If I want to sit in the sun and be burnt to a crisp I won't be in the car now would I. Convettibles are for cold winters days, tweed jackets and caps with cashmere scarves.
