I go to the post office to post letters and buy stamps etc.
Nothing ticks me off more that waiting in line wile people do their banking, pay their bills, get soft fluffy toys, printer cartridges and all manner of non postal related crap. I just want to deal with their core business for crying out loud!

Worse than all the groceries at servos these days, try to find a fan belt, or radiator hose, even a generic corrugated one in a servo.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Now Hymie don't get me started on the post office what they don't sell or are agents for these days is not worth talking about just another government dept been handed over to private enterprise thats lost the plot and so time can be wasted while mum and the kids do their shopping
I often wish one could buy stamps out of a vending machine like years ago

That's sad, as small time post offices rely on that sort of business to stay afloat, there bread and butter if you will

I am curently in the USA. All gas stations except in small country towns require either an acceptable credit card at the pump or you go inside and pay in advance before they will activate the pump. The pumps won't accept my Visa debit card for some reason so I pay cash for fuel. Most of the stations sell beer along with the groceries.

pay in advance before they will activate the pump.
Took a bit of explaining to me at a tiny town 300 miles north of Vegas as to how that worked when I wanted a full tank...

Esso tried that in the Uk. They changed a service stations to all pay at pump and no shop and no attendants. They did the one round the corner from where I lived

Lasted 4 months before it was shut down. No body used it. My mate who was a tanker drive for Esso said they used to fill up the station 3 times week but when the changed it to self service they used to go the 2 time a
    Month

yeh they just don't get service. In my job I'd sink without service.

I recently went to a Mobil to get a swap and go gas refill. The attendant took my money and gave me the keys to go get it myself. Did I see red as I have a pet hate already for filling the car myself than charging myself, same for groceries.

So my new stance on all CC transactions is now,
Shop has the good I want so I serve myself,
I have the money the shop wants, so they can can get it out of my card. I just hand it to them, watch them get cranky with me, and think same same but different. Have a nice day.

There is a caltex petrol station near where I work in melb that has a pump for kero and 2 stroke, price is $1.99 a litre. I also see many petrol outlets that are unnattended and require payment by credit card to use, many of these are designed for use by trucks. I hate going into shell to pay for petrol and have the attendant always say "are you interested in any of these specials?", if I wanted them I would have put them on the counter.

Would you like fries with that Matt?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
