Petrol stations stuck in the 70's!

In a recent thread last week where the prices of old fuel bowsers were being discussed, someone mentioned that servo's do not seem to sell kerosene at the bowser any more.

Put some fuel in this morning at a servo at Burpengary Brisbane and not only do they have a proper bowser with kero (as opposed to just a gravity feed tank with a nozzle like a few still do) but they also still have Zoom 25 2 stroke for your lawnmower, served from the same type of proper bowser. I can't say I've seen that sold like that for a number of years!

    SERVICE STATION or SUPER MARKET

I may be old by some standards but there is one thing I hate, standing in line at a service station while some one is checking their groceries through the cashier milk, bread, dog food , chocolates, coffee, FIRE WOOD (in queensland yes Qld.) and the list goes on some time I feel like telling them all that its a blood SERVICE STATION for cars, not a bloody supermarket

oh yes it is now - just as Colesworths etc always wanted....

...... see how many service stations are closing - never to be replaced

...... yet longer queues at the pumps and the checkouts (that is, for as long as such things as checkouts are with us - self serve fuel and groceries wil be the only alternative in the future)

...... and it's all coming to a location like yours

wait till these servos become self serve and everyone will need to scan the purchases and fuel themselves. first the drive way attendent is lost then the cashier.

Unfortunately ... Because the majority have supported this Coles / Woollies cheap fuel farce

It is a shop that happens to sell fuel .... Service Stations, in reality, no longer exist

Most of the pay at the pump ones I've seen are either
    a) not functioning / not activated or
    b) only available to those with the relevant servo brand specific credit card
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

Matilda servo in the industrial estate, the one on Old Gympie Rd near the roundabout as you go between Burpengary and the Narangba Dbay exit. It's next to the Chooks Courtesy Corner.

Both pumps lit up and unlocked so assuming they are active.
