Tell him he hasn't got a claim, it was a personal (non-commercial) transaction and outside the the reach of consumer law.

I am assuming that you didn't give a verbal or written warranty of any kind? i.e. in the wedding ceremony when the priest asked "who gives the bride" you didn't say, "I give the bride, which I certify is free from any manufacturing faults or subsequent environmental damage and comes with a lifetime warranty".

    Did you?

Also. One assumes that in the same property transfer ceremony, he did suggest something in the order of "I accept this piece of property which I will provide all the required inputs and maintain in good working order for the duration of it's operational lifespan." (or maybe it was the MC who mentioned those conditions and the SiL accepted them).

We bit the bullet, took said product into town and had her pterygium removed, let her convalesce for a couple of days and then sent her back.
Perhaps originally I made a blue when she asked "would I give her away" and I said that I would rather swap her for something.

Being sensible for a minute, she is going to wear wrap around sungalsses from now on isn't she?

Pterygium frequently develop as a protective mechanism against excessive sunlight entering from the outer corners of the eyes. Having eyeware that wrap around reduce the amount of this damaging sunlight and reduce the original risk and regrowth.

For playground duty, under OH&S one would think that providing protective wrap around eyeware would be part of the required PPE.

Wearing the PPE provided is very much another matter though!

Perhaps you can get one of her pupils to tell her to put them on!
