Best fuel economy towing?
Hi All,
My old (110 Defender 1993 TDi) girl is a farm beast these days after rusting out from years of abuse on Cable Beach (before we had her). Still does all that is asked - just rusty and electrics are a shambles. I'm here because the wife and I are planning hitting the road for extended periods with a caravan and I'm looking the most economical tow. When we left Broome and towed a disgracefully overladen 26 footer tandem axle caravan to Queensland the fuel economy dropped from about 10km per litre to just over 8, which I thought was pretty good. We'll be looking at 2nd hand - any advice on the best later model to look at, that is in Defender or Discovery range for best fuel economy?
Cheers - I still wave at you from Falcon!
Pete
