I'm sorry, but if I made a thread every time I was bitten by a dog then the AULRO server would collapse.

There was a sign on the gate that said "Beware of Dog". You chose to enter the property and was bitten. You were not savaged or injured so get over it. The smart thing to do next time you see those signs is to bang on the gate loudly to alert the dog to your presence. Then when the dog comes to meet you, you are still safe and can judge the dogs character/intentions. Ringing the doorbell doesn't count.

Yeah it sucks you got bitten but who really cares? You were not hurt, the owner (short of not giving a crap) hasn't done anything wrong. The law my disagree, but the law isn't always right in my opinion. There was a warning on the front of the yard and you entered the property knowing that there was potentially an aggressive dog.

Reporting the attack wont help anybody.

Tell me more, what is it that you do that makes dogs want to bite you all day?

I have to go onto peoples properties to do my job...most often is rural/farm properties which almost always means there's dogs.

Perhaps he deals with the dogs the same way he deals here. I know I'm ready to bite him.

You can be sure if it was an Integral meter reader or some other sore of official working within their daily capacity the dog would be put down and the owner facing some sort of charges and possibly ownership ban.

You own a dog and it attacks, you're liable. End of discussion. Same as driving, you hit a injure/kill a pedestrian, you're responsible no matter what they've done (trust me been there, done that.

The only way I don't get bitten by our puppy when I come home is to be wearing my bike leathers, gloves, and helmet. :D

If you are getting bitten that often, then you must be really useless at whatever you do. Or else you have never really been bitten, just nipped. And from your attitude here, no wonder you get bitten - you seem to be asking for it :angel:

(c) as a result of the dog acting in reasonable defence of a person or property, or(d) in the course of lawful hunting, or
(e) in the course of the working of stock by the dog or the training of the dog in the working of stock.
(3) This section does not apply to a police dog or a corrective services dog.
17 Dog must not be encouraged to attack

(1) A person who sets on or urges a dog to attack, bite, harass or chase any person or animal (other than vermin) is guilty of an offence, whether or not actual injury is caused.

what is reasonable for the dog not the person on the property and there was a sign thats not a legal admission of anything other than a dog is on the premises:(
