"Dirty Mags"? i thought this thread was about something different...
But we only read them for the "articles". :D
I religiously bought LRO from issue 1 for about 10 years. Then I realised that you can only write so much about Land Rovers and they were starting to recycle the same stories, plus the ads, oh the ads.......:o
Same with the local mags like Overlander. I'm not interested in reading about JapCrap and you can only write about how to use a snatch strap in so many ways.....so I rarely buy those any more.
I do have a big pile of old mags to give away though......

I must be getting old, but playing in the mud with like minded nutters is dirty enough for me.......;)

landychris, yeah you must be getting old (like me) or are you talking mud wrestling? Once you've bought a few mags and discovered all you need to know, it becomes apparent that mags based on trips and places to see are better value, but then think back to when you stated 4wdriving; it was good to get some technical info, wasn't it?. But all that and more is available right here, isn't it?! What annoys me is the fact that these publishers expect us to part with our money and take a gamble as to whether the mags worth buying. Oh yeah, only $10 but still no good when you find it's all garbage. And LR international in Sydney is generally $13.95; a rip off I reckon when you can get a DVD and 2 mags (4WDaction) for $9.95.
I agree Didge

I tought the high Aussie $ would see the price of English mags fall, but it hasn't.
