    Help...Stuck in Maitland!

    Hi All,
Heading back to Brissy from Blue Mt's-Lithgow(saw snow for first time),smelt Diesel when stopped, had a gander and the fuel hose between the regulator and head is leaking, luckliy it only has pressure while idling but the hose is quickly destroying itself ,Ican replace the hose and put screw clamps on to get me home, but I need to get the factory pressed clamps off!!Does anyone know of a spanner twirler or Landie owner in Maitland or close area to get these clamps off?.Would you believe I have the compltete one at home as they come with the regulator, but I can't see how you get the front fitting off without a special tool??Thanks Guys and Girls!

Bugger,I live in Maitland but im in the NT just arrived yesterday, you could try Modern Motors at Dungog( ph call) and ask for Ben he is the ex All4x4 landy mech and lives in maitland, other than that there is all4x4 at Kotara or another landy mob at Singleton all pretty much similar distances from each other.

Another guy who I have used Cannon Automotive in Melbourne street Maitland, nice guy.

How did you get on Greg? Good to see you saw some snow, if I was home I could of offered a place to crash till you got sorted as wifey and son are away at inlaws.
Ben may have even came to my place for an easy fix as we rent the house off his brother and he loves to show off Stormtrooper the 6 door defender!

Off to Katherine George today for me.

    Cheers Darren

    Hi Dazza,
I managed to limp back to Brissy, thanks to Sam and his girlfriends hair-dryer,I put a piece of heat-shrink on the leaking hose and tried to seal it,sort of worked until the fuel ate through it,ended up putting a hose clamp on the leak and headed north!.To get the front end of the hose off,the alternator has to come out, just to get to one nut!!,no -wonder most people leave that hose when they do a fuel regulator, off to mechanics tomorrow,I can't be bothered with it!!
    Thanks for the replies'
Big thanks also to Sam and Michelle

For future ref, a small flat screwdriver and pair of pliers. Squeeze together and prise the overlapped area apart. If you're careful you can reuse if necessary.
