What Vehicles do the WA Police Have??

Just a thought about the vehicle that pull over this biker??

    Speeding biker
A motorcyclist was clocked riding at 216km/h in a 110km/h zone near Williams, 160km south of Perth, yesterday afternoon.
Police say the 34-year-old rider was overtaking southbound vehicles on Albany Highway near West Arthur when he was pulled over.
He was charged with reckless driving and his bike was impounded.
He will appear in the Narrogin Court on August 23.

Just standard Commodores, the odd Falcon and a variety of unmarked cars. The rider may have just stopped when signaled, because the ramifications if you do not are much higher.
I do remember the old Nullabor pursuit vehicles that technically did not exist (having seen under the bonnet of a VK and a VL). A mate on a FJ1200 was doing 240kmph when one pulled up alongside and signaled him to stop.

Yeah, anything with no speed limiter could catch that pace...

My Street (Track more like) car was well capable of over 240km/h

A Subaru Liberty doesnt run out of puff to over 220...

There is also nowhere for him to run to down that way, and plenty of road for the police to catch up to his speed.

Cars are (potentially) faster than bikes around corners...

We have Falcoons in Williams Craig.A marked one and 2 unmarked.
Until recently they had XR6 Turbos, pretty sure the curent ones are not turbos.

Only have to radio ahead and wait for them in town
They have caught quit a few bikers down here and taken their bikes under hoon laws,at least 6 now.
    A popular run is Perth-Dwellingup-Boddington-Quindanning-Williams-Perth.
I see the bikes between Dwellingup and Boddington when I go fishing in Mandurah.Nothing to see a bunch of 10 bikes chasing one another at full noise going the other way.SPECTACULAR!!!!

How do you know the police were even chasing him in pursuit?
they might have clocked him from a distance via radar, and as he approached them he was "Pulled over" simply by a policeman stepping on the road and pointing him to pull over.

Plus video cameras seem to do the job well. Film em doing the big speed then grab them at the next traffic light.

Many years ago we were pulled for 125 in a 110 zone near Merredin by a XE 5.8 Falcon GL auto sedan, apricot with tan interior and black bib spoiler with steel rims, and the 5.8 badge in black on the side. I remember it like yesterday

Old man was quite surprised when it pulled up next to us from nowhere with the 'Police stop' sign held up at the side window

Also remember the Silver Brock Commodore in Kalgoorlie. The XE was also in Kal for a while.
