    Camping near Leyburn / Karara

    Hey guys,

Going away for the weekend in a couple weeks. There are 3 State Forests near Leyburn that I can't find much info about on the DERM website.

    They are:

    Leyburn SF
    Talgai SF
    Durikai SF

Do you know if you can camp at these places?
    What's access like etc...?

    Any info would be good.

There's a little spot near the bridge on the Condamine between Pratten and Clifton that people seem to camp at. I've camped there, but we were on private property.

And a lovely pub it is too - nice and bloody warm for wayward hunters

Owned by Shane Webke, I'm lead to believe.

Yes I was thinking of the Leyburn Sprints weekend, however, I don't want to stick around Leyburn for the whole weekend. Just drop in for half a day or a bit more on the way to a more remote camp site. What's the point of camping if you're near people & roads? I can get that at home.

Yup, pub is owned by Webke, designed by my best mates dad.

Taake warm gear and rum. If Leyburn turns on its normal winter weather you will need it.

the pub overcharges mightily during sprint weekend. You have been warned.
