Sounds all too familiar to me.

Sounds more like be careful of NSW and it's stupid overly complicated rules and regulations!

As for whoever said it should be standardised across the country, please no. You people in NSW can keep your horrible system, we don't want it!

I've never understood Australia's need for separate state ergo, police force, taxes, etc, surely a country of 20 million doesn't need all that government interference? ,I had to get a rangie rego'd from ACT, really got annoyed by that as I fail to see the point of the ACT at all...it's like a suburb of NSW!!...
Surely it can just be one set of rules??

Some of us fail to see the point of NSW - I would rather follow ACT rules than NSW Nanny State rules anyday.

I agree, how good would it be in Law Enforcement to have all States on the same page, for example, with one central command, one with a central data base of all serious offenders nation wide, and a seamless police force able to cross State borders, there wouldn't be many places for the" Mr Bigs " to hide.[ or the grubs]
However, their are too many bureaucrats in each state running the various departments , earning good money,[ duplicating jobs], for this to ever become reality, Pity. Bob

This exact situation was mentioned to me by one of the gentlemen at the RTA and is why they wanted to see documentary confirmation that the car had indeed been inspected when reregistered in SA.
