Yeah, your right about it never getting any easier. 16 is a good innings though. My old Lab is 13 now, and not sure how much longer her will last. Remember the good times...
Well had the unpleasant task of doing what`s right for our old schnauzer Charles. Old mate had basically given up the fight and at sixteen he had a good life for a dog. Will be missed. Has been the third in the last few years. Thankfully, with good fortune, not for some time till the next one get`s to that age.

Have had 3 Schnauzers in the family, a Giant Jet, lied till 10and died of heart problems, A miniature Ebony, 17 from old age and Tiger, My standard hit by a car at 3 not long ago
Tooke in another woofer a while back, staffy x, she got hit a few nights ago, 2 dogs in 2 weeks, about broken me, I had dog proof fence, auto gate openers, but they still insisting on getting out at any oppurtune moment, having dogs with no road sense and bringing them to where there is a main road close by has its perils
Schnauzers are great ever loyal dogs......rather vocal buggers, although our Giant almost never barked, although she certainly sparked many years ago when I was a menace and had a visit from the CIB, she knew I didn't like them, only ever seen her aggressive that once
Hall,
It doesn't get any easier, they are all special in their own way. I guess as we get older we have the benefit of so many more memories and the bad ones fade as they are out done by the good ones. Hope you have plenty of good ones to see you through.
