In the last job when I was working out of an office in the CBD of Fremantle (most of the time), we were surrounded by coffee shops, some "posh" and some pretty ordinary (was usually the "ordinary" ones who served the best coffee). I guess I was pretty close to overdosing on coffee in that job.

Now, with a coffee machine in the office (on a remote minesite in the middle of nowhere - about 40km south of Nullagine), I prefer the good old powdered instant stuff. ;)

Might have something to do with the fact that the "coffee machine" needs a bit of regular maintenance - like cleaning it and keeping the milk jug filled up - and the condition it gets into with everyone and his dog using it sometimes is a little off for my liking.

But they've just knocked down some government office building next to the shopping centre in Newman, and the word is locally that there's going to be a Maccas built there - so I'll soon be able to drive 140 km for the same coffee that you enjoy in Sydney. :p

Will probably have to get in the queue behind CraigE and Pat303 just to get a coffee though. :wasntme:

Wot like the restaurant in Cleveland St Strawberry Hills (Sydney) who was selling original style Turkish coffee, made with hashish. Continued to make them till raided by the drug squad and claimed he didn't know he was doing anything wrong. Apparently that was the way they made Turkish coffee in his area of Turkey! :D

We had a great cafe in the Valley,Brisbane, used to make all you can eat breakfasts, don't know anyone who could finish one. From memory, the California Cafe, run by a Greek gentleman [my memory not the best] If you could finish the meal, you got one free! Bob
