Question Optimum Psi in Mitchelin tyres on 130 wolf rims?

    Hiya Mob,

What psi should I be putting in my standard off the shelf Mitchelin tyres which come on the 130 wolf rims? Am Putting 35psi in the front and 38psi in the rear atm.

I feel its not enough but dunno?

    Any input would be appreciated

    Hi,
the max pressure marked on the sidewalls of my tyres it 70 psi.
With the ute unloaded, I found about 35 psi was enough to give a good ride without being too harsh.
When I put the camper on the back it needs around 60psi.
    cheers

I mucked around with the 4psi rule for a bit. Maybe give that a go.

I found for my 130 running empty to caring around 300kg. Front 45psi, Rear 55psi seemed good.

Forgot to mention mine is a 110 with 130 rims. What do Land Rover recomend? What is the general rule when they state the max psi on the side of the tyre?

I used to run about the same around town when empty. (Same combination of wheels/tyres/vehicle) Perhaps even a bit lower in the front (32psi)
I'd take it up to 45 to 50 in the back with all the gear and family loaded up.
Down to low 20's in the bush (low range work) and lower if it got real sticky.

Some like 'em up a bit higher but never had any dramas with the pressures a bit lower.

Try a few variations and see how it rides.

There should be a tire placard inside one of the front doors that gives LR's recommended tire pressure. I found 65psi in my case F and R was way to hard however.

Depends if it came from the factory with the heavy duty rims, ( and the Pumas never did, and i dont think the TD5's did over here ) if not it will have pressure for the steel/alloys it originally came with.

Be careful with tyre pressures the 110 will be a little different to a 130, due to the difference in the payload weights.

Land Rover still sell the H/D Steel Rim Pack for the Station Wagon in the Uk and other Countries but not here any more for some very strange reason...
