Will you be selling thru the market section? Bob

Jeep drivers wave to each other. I think this indicates the difference between the marques...
nothing.
They are both an exercise in shared misery (for a purpose).
A Jeep dealer told me how pleased he was to see the end of the JK model because he was sick of brand new cars breaking down.
If you don't like fixing things, stop buying older 4wds.
Or get yourself one of those 40-series Toyotas. They're pretty reliable ... with their aftermarket chassis, Chev V8 and fibreglass replacement body panels...
i will probably list them on ebay first, just because it has a larger audience, i will link to the listings
I'm with Stevo. Do what you like but don't try and make us feel guilty about your vehicle breaking down. I bought a Defender brand new in 2003. It has done 180,000km and now a few things are starting to go wrong. I don't feel like I need to blame anyone or elicit sympathy for my misfortune. It is a machine and it will wear out and break down. Eventually and without fail. The solution? Fix it and get on with life. That is what spare parts are for. As long as spare parts are available you can keep any machine going forever. At least with LR you can still get spare parts for all models. do other makes offer the same?
its not about seeking sympathy, or blaming anyone, thats crazy, dont read stuff that isnt there
every other facet of peoples lives and interests are posted on these forums, so i thought why not post?
If I was changing makes to something more "reliable" it wouldn't be a jeep!!!
Jazza, perhaps it's the reasons and the choice of replacement vehicle. The JK is as old as a Disco 1, as complicated as a Disco 1, based like the Disco 1 on a much older design and has a reputation for being a thirsty lemon. I for one don't mind if you find Land Rover ownership less than thrilling. So be it. But please think twice before leaving the frying pan for the fire. Perhaps, as has been suggested, a (shudder) Japanese marque? At least if it does break down the Bank won't want a mortgage on your house for the spare parts.
I'll bite,LR's unreliable,no better or worse than any other vehicle, parts are dear?Huh compaired to what?,a complete service kit for the L322 is cheaper than the fuel/oil filter on our Playdoo and the filters are German made not Indonesian.Buy your Jeep or Toyota and do the same tracks your D1 does and see how much it costs you. Well, the Jeep Cherokee must be popular. I typed in "Jeep Cherokee accident" into Google & got 2,140,000 results:eek:.
In fairness, the "Land Rover Discovery accident" got a tad over 3,000,000 results...:p
But I know which one I would want my family in should there be an accident, I've said it before on this forum, the jeeps suffer badly in the damage department & are writeoffs very easily.
