    Extracting Voice Recordings from mobile?

How do I do that? I have three recordings of Simon on my mobile, one where we are having an argument, one where he's making fun of me and one where he is snoring (that I took so I could get him to hear how LOUD it was).

I want to get them off my phone so I can keep hold of them and let Lucas hear them down the track.
It's an old nokia, has blutooth and a usb port - would they be files I can just copy off? The phone does nominate a file size in kb.
I don't have a cable that fits just yet, I'm searching. It's somewhere

mm...should I have posted in the computer/IT section? Sorry - mods feel free to move

If it has an SD card under the battery, you can move recordings/photos etc to the SD card then upload to a computer from that.

If they are actual recordings (not voicemail messages), then they will be stored in the phone's memory.

Find your cable, and connect it to a computer and you should be able to just copy them over to the computer.

If you computer has bluetooth, you may also be able to copy them via bluetooth.

    Hi Sarah,

Firstly, if it is an early Nokia, then download Nokia PC Suite to your computer. You will need the cable that plugs into the phone & a USB port on the pc itself.

PC Suite will detect the phone, and then you can save the recordings onto your computer.

Considering your phone doesn't have a SD card, it might be an early 6110 or 6120. If you cant locate the cable, can you take a pic of the connector on the phone, or better still, under the battery will be the model number. I will probably have a cable here you can borrow.

Now, if the recordings are voice-mail messages, you wont be able to save them yourself. Your phone provider should be able to do this, however, actually getting them to do it is a different matter.

Let me know if you need any more help.

    Thank you!

Yes, definitely files on the phone, not voice mails. I wish I had some of those - he used to call my phone and pretend to be a telemarketer from India. They were hilarious.

easiest option is to bluetooth or MMS them to a more tech friendly phone and then save them from that phone.

I've sent you my phone number, if you like you can message them to me and I will email them back for you.

on most nokias to mms a file simply find the file hit the option button and one of the options will be send to. select send to, type in my number and then hit send.

One file per MMS and you should have them by tonight.

I think the easiest option if you dont have cables and software is to play them back near the mic on on a PC with sound recorder software running and save them that way.
Thats how I have recorded voice messages in the past for posterity.

Just wondering if you had any luck getting these recordings off your phone?
