There seems to be different circumstances between the West and East coast mining industry, besides the obvious of whats being mined. If I'm not mistaken ,most of the towns involved in mining in the West , were built purely for that, where as most of those in the East existed before mining, and came into existence to support the rural industry. So the social pressures in the East could be said to be different to the West. Yet the same fifo system is being put in place.I lived in Darwin for a while, so I know where you are coming from regarding local employment. I know the only thing between a reasonable lifestyle and banana republic for Australia at the moment is mining, but we have some issues to sort thru. Is anyone in Canberra thinking beyond the election cycle? I really worry about my country , it would be nice to think we had responsible polititions running it. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
