Capitalism has subsumed us. We are no longer a society, we are now the Human Resource in the economy where political (or lack of) values and industrial/technology values unite and subjugate our social customs, beliefs, and values...we have become the 'means to their ends'....it is capitalist expediency. An expediency that places the $ as being of higher worth than our human values and ultimately, our sustainability here on earth.
The Australian mining industry is the embodiment of pure expediency. Such a ravenous activity....to all those that are involved in the mining industry, what do you believe our existence will be after the mining industry inevitably ends? Is it an ethical pursuit if we have not reasoned and accepted what it means in the long run? Or is it, that we just don't care?
