Inappropriate or Pointless Land Rover Modifications...

I came across a landie near work. A nice TD5 130. I was surprised to see a dual exhaust sticking out the side:

I thought that maybe it has been converted to a V6 or V8...
(btw - the exhaust is illegal of course, since it exits forward of the rearmost opening window)

However then I looked underneath to see:

So - who else has pics of pointless / ricer mods on landies

not illegal at all, ADRs changed a while ago to allow side exhausts, from memory it is now as long as they are rear of the door like Lakeside Pipes

    Inappropriate modification lol
Why is it inappropriate? Pointless yes but just because people own a Land Rover doesn't mean they cant be tools.
Some would look at roof lights, 36 inch tyres, 5 inch suspension lifts and any of the other P3nis extensions and say they are inappropriate.
The one that always amuses me is the guys who do SOA conversions to 40 Series Land Cruisers and put V8s in them
In standard form they were the most unstable thing I have ever used off road without doing this to them.

    when I was looking for a 130 i found a td5 with a exhaust similar to that.
exact same spot but had two pipes the whole way though.
man it was loud... was cool for about a minute and then got annoying.
    and i'm only 21...
it was funny to see people quickly wind up their windows up as you pulled up next to them at the lights. yummy exhaust fumes to the face!

DeeJay - want to sell that dash? I actually think it looks quite cool... However I agree - hard to keep your eye on it and the road...

Check again. The exhaust must exit behind all opening doors/windows. AFAIK the 130 has a rear window that opens?

I believe it also has to exit on the drivers side if it is out the side of the car.

I'm sorry but gee that's funny. I like how there's some empty room for even more gauges if you want them. Care to list them all?

you need to do the aviation thing, when in normal range, have all the needles pointing vertical, so a quick glance will tell you if anything is wrong
