Nothing that YOU would call roads, so it's great I don't have to pay extra to be stuck on them then!

Makes up a percentage of pollies salaries, the balance is made up of all those other bits we don't like paying for but they give us no choice.

Ha! I had a similar problem early this year, when i got a default notice from the M7 and had to pay AFAIR about $40 in fines and fees.
Turns out two things happened. One someone fraudulently used my Visa and it was changed by the bank in 2010, and I changed from Telstra to Optus.
I had $80 credit on my RTA account so I didn't run out of credit for over a year seeing I had moved to the Central Coast. I didn't get any quarterly notices as I had changed my ISP.
So I was quite surprised and dismayed to get all this grief.
Ah well sorted it out, paid the money.
    It was my fault.
Coincidentally saw a $3.99 charge on my RTA account yesterday. What was that/ The Gateway for my RRC and camper. No problems there.
Maybe you should get an RTA chip!!! LOL

Me too. I don't use toll roads/bridges. I maintain roads etc. are created from the common purse for the free use of all. This does require a little thought in places like Sydney but can be done. Not one of the toll roads/bridges/tunnels around Brisbane are the slightest use to me anyway. The southern end of the Gateway is further from my place than the Valley Fiveways. To use the Logan Motorway I would have to travel 20k's out of my way. The tunnels save what- 3-5 minutes at best?

I am not going to pay with the debit card number any more. There is a list of servo,s where you can pay in advance. Even three in Gympie. Nominate the days and thats it. One has to pay a buck more but at least they cant bill any excess charges to ones card.

Youse guys have nothing to complain about. If you want to go from Richmond Road to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, you have to use the M7 $4.26 then the MQueue $4.95 to Lane Cove Tunnel $2.92 and the Harbour Tunnel $4.00 Total $16.13 unless you have a trailer behind the Defender when it's classified as Class 4 at a cost of $29.45.

At present there are roadworks on the MQueue so the speed is frequently reduced to 40 or 60KPH with extended delays and when the road widening is completed in 18 months time there is going to be an increase in the toll.

Last time they increased the toll on the M2 they simultaneously reduced the speed limit from 100KPH to 80KPH, so obviously the fee is based upon the time you spend (stuck) on the road and not upon the speed or convenience of the road.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I often use the M7/M2 in my 101 towing a trailer and have never been hit with higher rates.

The big mystery for me is why is the M7 only 100kph and not 110kph.
