The earthquake was apparently centred at Upper Sturt. I was last night located in Morphett Vale. It shook me side to side in my bed about three times, lasting around two seconds. It shook the whole house, although susceptible vertical objects have not been dislodged. The noise appeared to start about three seconds before the shaking (this was when I woke up) and lasted for about five seconds after. If it wasn't for the shaking, I would have dismissed the noise as being a truck rumbling by. During the actual shaking, there was an accompanying louder noise, which made it seem like a large vehicle had crashed into the house. The fact that the noise woke me was a bit unusual. I was sleeping with the radio on, and small noises don't usually wake me.

    the trucks are coming

    Hi Aaron

Whilst I am too far away to have noticed that Adelaide earth quake, I do remember an earth quake, some years ago here in Tasmania.
The sound of a truck rumbling past, prior to the rattling of the windows, is a good analogy.

    Cheers Arthur

By the way, where are all those charactors gone, with their signs ?

Happy to report no earthquake felt in Cooktown, everything "rock solid", although it is raining at the moment.
