Just a simple hint. After getting the wifes commodore wheel alignment and balanced today had a couple of small issues. First off they advised me the near new battery fitted was stuffed and needed replacing( not) . On the way home decided to check the tyre pressures as we are heading off down south in 2 days time. Spare 49 PSI all other tryes between 49-42 psi. I checked with my small pressure guage and electronic one at servo within 2psi on both readings.

I know what you mean, some time ago the wife had her Honda Accord balanced/aligned while it was in for a service. The dealership farms out to a tyre shop - when she brought it home all the mag wheels had scratches across the faces. The only way I could think that they could have done this was if the fitter had a ring on his finger and was stopping the wheel with his hand while balancing. No one would own up to doing it. Very annoying to have something like this done to an otherwise perfectly looking car, no one seems to care these days, their attitude is like it or lump it unfortunately.

I had 4 tyres fitted to a Falcon, I was asked if I wanted the best tyre removed and put on as a spare. I said NO, the spare is unused never been on the car.
6 moths later I get a flat out in the country, I go to put on my spare only to find the *&^%^ #$#$%%@!!!!! had removed my new tyre and refitted one on my old ones. No proof but will never shop at the tyre shop that ends in 'stone ever again

....Which is why I prefer buying two tyres at a time, I take the old ones in to the tyre shop in the back of another car so they don't get to **** up the job.

bought 5 new tyres, moving to radials from LT on my old camper.
A day or so later on a Saturday morning in Burnie one was flat.
Took it into town with another vehicle and picked it up just before closing time.
No, not a nail or intrusion - the idiots had refitted the LT tube into a smaller size radial.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Now I had a boat to catch, possibly 4 tyres with oversize tubes that will be pinched and liable to crease and leak.
Made it to Ballarat by Sunday lunch and waited till a tyre place opened and had them change all for smaller tubes.

I was getting 4 tyres fitted once by a place in brisbane.

While I was there a customer had 2 rear tyres fitted to an MX5 (or similar).
He drove off, only to return a few minutes later to complain that the car handled terribly.

--- The wheel nuts on both rear wheels were loose (hadn't been done up at all).

I was very glad that I had brought my rims to them off the vehicle...

Last year got a tyre repaired by a tyre place - luckily I was at home when it went flat again - I had to borrow a 3/4" drive socket set to get the wheel off after bending an extension on my 1/2" drive socket set. Another place on my "Never go there again" list.

But there is good out there. The tyre place I repeatedly use does a spot on job. And they use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel nuts so they are neither over or under tightened.
