    another DC100

Maybe it will get better :

The following excerpt was gleaned from the interweb (link provided)

First World Problems: Revised Land Rover DC100 Coming To LA

....Edwards said: "Sometimes we talk too much about the NAS [North American specification] 90 Defender and surfer dudes, and not enough about the Red Cross, Zambia or the Australian Outback. We want to get back to our roots, but it would be nice if in doing so, we can also sell it to the Californian surfer dude."

Sounds promising, but those are the last things that we're left talking about after looking at the DC100.

Perhaps the next iteration of the DC100 will do a better job of conveying its intent. Land Rover admitted in Frankfurt that the DC100 is just a start. And it plans to show the next step--a revised version of the DC100--at next month's 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, so we'll get to see if the concept is evolving in the right direction....

I read an article recently that compared the Jeep and Land Rover ethos. Both iconic vehicles with a rugged persona and a dedicated following.

The Jeep appealed to the weekender, the Land Rover to the overlander.

Land Rovers carry loads and do jobs, Jeeps frolic, so lets hope we see a long wheel base version, with 16" wheels and a new face; because the first version of the DC100 looked to be closer to the Jeep brief.

I know what you're saying - but I may not be able to fault a Prado, but that doesn't mean that I'd buy one.

You think, Jeeps dont frolic they do real 4wding Wranglers are solid axle, 5 link front ends, swaybar discos and lockers available off the factory floor I can see anything remotely similar to that in the Defender concept.

By 'frolic' I meant they're a weekend play thing, not a transcontinental vehicle. I wasn't commenting on the jeeps off road ability, but rather on the Land Rovers greater utility.
