Whilst it certainly is an expensive accident I doubt it is the most expensive vehicle accident in history. There have been numerous mass pile ups involving hundreds of vehicles including trucks with valuable commercial loads that would total well above the hundreds of thousands even millions of dollars that this accident no doubt will add up to. Luckily no one appears to be seriously injured possibly due to the advanced safety built into many of the vehicles. Some serious injuries alone could put the total cost of any accident well above the cost of the mechanical mess resulting here.
But yes I am smirking, I guess if you can afford to own such vehicles you can afford to wreck them as well.

If, if, if I could reverse my fortunes, I would buy a small hobby farm ( about 1000 Ha would be nice ) and the biggest red and grey tractor they make.

I would let the other well off ones to drive their flash little cars fast, till they catch the next slow driver.

    Nope, wouldn't buy one.
I'd love to go to Germany and HIRE one though. at least there you can actually drive it the way it was meant to be driven. In Australia with a top limit of 110 except in the NT..... why waste $500k?
I did drive a mates 911 from Melb to Sydney once.... I'd rather do it my D2 for comfort frankly.
Give me a nice D4 tdv6 3.0l with 18" wheels so I can get some rubber on them and I'll be a happy camper (yeah I know, you need to change the brakes, but if I could afford a D4, I could afford to do that too couldn't I)
