This is the stuff thats completely untrue. I haven't read further into the thread even to see if anyone else has replied but they don't tissue type you for this stuff without permission from the family so someone would be made aware well before.

Obviously, there are a limited number of surgeons available on a given shift, but I feel for the recipient families and the ensuing financial burden (little compared to losing their loved one, I know).

    Thanks in advance.
    Dave.

This is gold. The surgeons (and I know a few) as they rise through the ranks tend to get their god like opinions of themselves (the ones that consider themselves in the "important" fields) from their piers/mentors.

You my friend have just set the criteria for me consenting for my wife and deciding to donate mine. I'll even get a dirty big tattoo, DNR, Donate all, charge nothing.

Maybe the donor cards and informing the family could be reinforced with a codecil in the will, which everyone is aware of, that if the relative refuses permission for an organ donation their share of the estate goes to Transplant Australia

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
