    I know of two choices.

A bowl of milk and 3 aspros, quick and permanent.

    OR

Spray metho around the areas they frequent, the ipecac gets on the paws and they lick it it. This won’t kill them but sure as hell p!sses them off.

Hi Dullbird and while I can understand your feelings but being as these cats are in other people’s yards and the cat’s owners don’t care, so why should the people being bothered by these cats care?

    Hey Drivesafe
do other people know that their cats are in other peoples yards?? probably not...even if they dont care should an animal be made to suffer because of this?
even if you dont care about cats should that mean you should not use humane methods?
You asked why they should care if the owners don't care..I have answered this further back..because the cat does not know it is doing anything wrong, it is doing what comes naturally too it.

The original poster asked for natural ways to deter cats, like all cat threads it seems to become a free for all to see who can do the most horrible things to them.

Don't get me wrong I get it, I'm not a huge cat lover myself and I get that A LOT of people dislike cats for very many and varied reasons...

does this mean we should make them suffer? I dont think so
is it relevant to this thread considering what the original poster asked? I dont think so.

Do I think that anyone in here will really listen to me? probably not but if I have made one person at least think about it then I'm happy.

Doing it the humane way does take some effort like setting a trap and actually taking ti to the pound..I think thats the problem in a lot of situations people just couldn't be bothered

for want of trying to get this thread a little bit more back on track

too the Original poster another thing you can try

half filled jars of water or hang a cd near....cats dont like sudden flickers of light the water pics up light and shines it on the ground they dont like this the CD does the same but I think beter as it moves more....however it is uglier. especially if you have to crack out Neil Diamond..maybe trying playing it that could poss work to, I reckon it would keep humans away let alone cats

There have been some good suggestions in here regarding peppers etc

Failing that plant some catnip in your neighbours yard hahahahaha problem solved well for you anyway

Hi again Dullbird, and my wife owns a dog and my daughter owns a cat.

The dog was trained from a pup not to chase the wildlife.

The cat is never allowed out and we live in an area with a large diversity of bird life and I am so fed up with chasing other people’s cats out of my yard and as for telling people their cats are killing the wildlife, the retard next door is highly amused when her kitty comes home with a bird hanging out of it’s mouth.

The same bitch thinks it’s funny to show her visitors how she has trained her dog to chase all the birds.

It’s all good and well to go down the PC path, but it’s got to work but rarely does.

So where do you draw the line, the neighbours uncontrolled cats or the wildlife?

    Know where my vote goes.

Hey Lou, because of previous chats on this topic with you I actually made a non-violent suggestion and left the cruelty out for a change! Your efforts don't always fall on deaf ears...

I actually made a flyer and deposited them into a few surrounding the offending house pointing out the obvious. That was six months ago and included pics of said cats roaming in the street to no avail.

Tim, train the dog to come home with the neighbor in its mouth.

the line is drawn by yourself and the choice make
you can chose to act in a number of ways.

I just hope by people reading this thread they will make the humane choice, especially as the outcome will likely be the same.

    I dont like cats.
    They are effecient killing machines.
    HOWEVER.
We(the Mrs and Boy) have a pair of cats. They are spayed, microchipped, and confined to the house MOST of the day and EVERY nite. They still present their prize catches, dont mind the mice and rats, they are doing their job.It really annoys me when I see them playing with birds lizzards and frogs,if you dont catch them intime they are history
We have huge problems with strays, attacking our cats even inside the house(come in thru the cat door).
We also have a neighbor in the next street that runs a cat trap constantly,I have over heard him bragging that he loves returning the cats he catches to their owner.
We got one last week, strategically placed so Deb would step in it getting into her Defender. It was our next door neighbors cat,I did point out to them who does this stuff.
