Took this shot of a yellow 90 at Cooma in 2008. The front plate was a normal one but rear was cut to look like a British one, good job.... Be interested to know if this plate was used on the road or display only. Looks good is it a member?

The fact you drive a Land Rover means you are a step up from the 'rest'
And who gives a stuff where you come from as long as you love it

I got some feedback from Vicroads confirming what we didn't want to hear...
But there's hope yet (I'll just keep nagging until they make me one ;-)

I appreciate your reason for requesting the use or production of a square number plate however; VicRoads is only able to issue number plates in the current sizes that are available.
I have forwarded your feedback on to the Custom Plates manager for their review and consideration; however I cannot guarantee these plates will be made available. In the meantime, I recommend you sign up as a Custom M8 so you can stay up to date with all the latest plate news.
I hope this information has adequately addressed your enquiry. If you require further assistance with your enquiry, please do not hesitate to reply to this email and we will then respond to your new questions within 7 working days.
Alternatively, you may contact the VicRoads Call Centre on 13 11 71 (8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 2.00pm Saturday) or attend a VicRoads Customer Service Centre to discuss your enquiry further with a VicRoads consultant.

Yes, that is a Victorian "slimline" cut in half. Not legal - according to
Number plates : VicRoads
"punishable by a fine of 10 penalty units or imprisonment for two months."
That one is only 7 digits away from my 90.since re-registered
.
As a straight read I don't know... ANPR read from a photo it took of the plate, so this allowed a viewing operator to manually input data and / or an operator confirm a computer read plate... What I do know is that as courtesy military plates would not be pinged for fines on my watch... Also they were exempt from road tax n insurance so as a straight read by other cameras would be screened out... The original don't know was for military / historic metal plates as they would not "reflect" as required to be able to b computer read... Number plates in the UK were a standard size... So on a rear motorbike (legal plate)... It may well have gone to 3 lines... JamesOriginally Posted by Lotz-A-Landies
