Good on you Andy! No doubt you'll do the best you can to keep safe in the process of having a ball!!! I am very jealous. Did anyone mention putting on a kidney belt like bikers wear? Assuming you can still sit comfortably it might help offset some jarring.

If you can swap the mags out for steelies... when your swapping the tyres fill them with a flexing expanding foam.
Silicon the tyres to the beads, cheap bead locks, run 10-12psi, Traction!

I had it on the hoist today, I have to remove the complete IRS to get the rear cover off the diff and modify the suspension. Has anyone ever ripped the rear out of a jag before? Looks like a bit of a job.
Started stripping it today, found a bit of rust but only 5c in change so far.

Reading the rules, I doubt you will be allowed to keep the hood ornament on...
Water provides better cooling than glycol. I would probably run straight water with a few cans of bar's leaks added. There is also nothing in the rules to say you can't add protection to/around the rad, as long as it stays original and you don't move it (e.g. foam on the rad where it is most likely to make contact with the engine).
Does the car have enclosed subframe rails front (and/or rear). The rules do not seem to preclude you filling them with concrete.
if youve got an expansion tank drill a hole in the cap, If you're sneaky you might be able to plumb the windshield washer tank into the cooling system and use that to "refill", you just have to be sneaky how you plumb it in.
The hole in the cap will prevent the engine from pressurising and ease the leak in the event of a hose getting pinched or the radiator holed (if you cant bypass it)
If you're not allowed to bypass it run a heavy mix of eggwhites and detergent
Did a bit more work to the jag today, stripped out the boot, back seat, exhaust, rear doors, bypassed the xyz switch (always thinks its in park, so I can start in gear). Started stripping the ac, removed the fan and shroud, I also located the inertia switch. I hope to get the front doors and the rest of the trim out tomorrow, then start on the engine. Scored some chain for the doors too.
I spoke to a current driver brett today about what is and is not allowed. I cannot strengthen anything apart from the drivers door. So no rail mods, concrete in the doors, and no spare in the boot. He recommended leaving the rad in as well, as some Derbys go for upto half an hour. Shocks are not meant to be modified, so I'll be putting a tube on shock rod, and the boot over the top. The rear has coil overs, so I have to do something else there, might put in longer springs. He says he runs tubes in the tyres, which might be hard considering that I have 16 inch low profile tyres. I have some 14 inch steelies I could run, but i'll try the 16s grooved In the padock first and compare them to the 14s.
I'm on the hunt for another car for a friend, we want a magna 4 or v6, mid to late 90s, $300 max.
