Like the current anti-drugs advert, Would I like to fly with a pilot who had been smoking it. No. Would I like to fly fly with a pilot who had had a few glasses of beer before, also no. I do drink, don't smoke and have never taken an illegal drug. But have been on morphine, would not drive on that to. But the problem is that what ever the drug, too much causes other people pain, loss etc. So if it's banned lets keep it that way. Rambling I know, but thats probably the pain killers
The resin is known as spliff in the UK. Don't know if that's the same here or you have local slang.

It's NOT ok for everyone. I've never used it myself, but worked for a while in a sales environment where pretty much everyone else did. So one day the clever d!!ks decide to get one up on the loser straight guy & made me a 'black' coffee. ie. they put a quantity of spliff in my coffee.
Trouble is in my case, it removed the wrong inhibitions & when one of the idiots pulled a practical joke on me to see my drugged reaction, the result was it took 4 of them to pull me off him.
Needless to say I didn't work there much longer. And I NEVER knowingly take any 'recreational' drug, alcohol occasionally excepted.
It isn't called smart for a reason.
To quote my father:

Hearing that was enough for me - At the time I didn't really quite 'get it' but respected my Dad enough to take his word for it. Had tried it but I'm not interested in making myself any less smart. (I already have to work too hard to keep up with the smart people as it is...)
Looking back, so many of my friends have had their quality of lives reduced by it, it just seems so dumb. But that is me looking in from the outside. Just remember it isn't only you that it effects..
Well never tried it but I think that there is enough mental health issues in amongst out youth today without bringing on issues related to paranoia.
While alcohol might have it's own issues at least it is legal.
Illicit drugs support a whole nefarious industry that I think we could do without.

Lots of people enjoy a puff, some too much and some who are clearly nuts after smoking who may have been already susceptible to mental illness before smoking grass. My little brother fits in the last category. My brother is often violent, very paranoid and clearly mentally ill for a long time after a long term grass habit.
I know a lot of people who do not seemed harmed in any way after smoking. I like a beer or a wine. Alcohol is legal and is also abused, contributes to violence and causes many medical illnesses besides many death each year caused by misuse. Hemp, hash or Cannabis can be very useful or abused like other legal drugs. It is a drug and a quote I heard that all drugs have side effects is true of all legal drugs and medicine and Cannabis.
I feel is should be legal or decriminalised and treated as alcohol, cigarettes and other similar products. I do not smoke. Tried it once and yes I inhaled
"Illicit drugs support a whole nefarious industry that I think we could do without." Yep the WAR On DRUGS is a con and decriminalization would bankrupt "whole nefarious industry" (read criminals). Criminals benifit directly due to the WAR ON DRUGs which has been going for a few hundred years or more and costs more taxpayer money than spent on any one of our mental health state budgets.
Having to deal with the effects of cannabis use in general society I can say with informed opinion:
1. It does promote anti social behavior FACT
2. It does promote related illegal and dangerous activity FACT
3. It costs me as a tax payer significant amounts of money to deal and treat the effects FACT
4. It does cause metal health issues FACT (I often work with these issues)
5. It does cause birth defects ARGUABLE BUT SUPPORTED
6. It does promote dangerous and life threatening issues (safety and related workplace issues) FACT
However I would prefer not to live in a nanny state (which Australia is becoming)
If we could legalise cannabis and tax & control it I think it would serve a better purpose to reduce the criminal and antisocial related activities.
If you choose to use cannabis, personally I believe you are a "dope" but I have my own personal and social views (I like guns & knives and 4 wheel driving which for many people are considered antisocial/illegal activities).
You could apply all 6 of those to alcohol....but the list would keep on going......and like alcohol as with pot if it is consumed in high levels as with food for example...there is going to be a downside.Quote:

Cannabis is not evil, but as has been said it doesn't do anything helpful for the average user, and seriously harms some. Medical cannabis? The helpful dose is quite small, below recreational levels.
There is a lot more to any drug than just how addictive it is. I've seen plenty of people be seriously harmed by drugs without being addicted, and seen addicts who have no obvious harm.
But cannabis is addictive. Not as addictive as nicotine, sure. Probably not as addictive as alcohol. But definitely addictive. Or are thousands of lab rats lying?
The emerging problem with cannabis is mental health, as Inc has said. This is particularly true for those who start in their teen years.
In future years, it will be lung disease, heart disease and cancer. Doesn't matter if it's addictive or not, it's still smoke. Never yet met anyone addicted to spray painting, but seen quite a few with emphysema from it.
So, IMHO, if this is an assignment for school, give your brain a rest from it for a few years yet. And when you're in your 20's and want to give it another go it's a lot safer for your body as a cooking ingredient.
I'm not a user and never will be. I have no understanding of why people use it.
