I know of a 2000 model Jack that is requiring a new engine but the engine is worth more than the car so maybe that's not such a bad idea.
Was thinking LS 1,2,3 etc but the AULRO resident engine transplant artist (Rovercare) has not the time at the moment

A few years ago, on a club trip through Queen Mary falls, there was a guy who had exactly what you have described.
It was a SWB Series ute on a classic Range rover chassis with the ZF auto gearbox and 3.9 EFI motor
It is painted a distinctive aqua blue colour.
Im sure it has been documented on here before, but I dont have time to go looking.

I know a of a Tuff Truck with a series 1 body on a range rover chassis.

Not the clip I was looking for, there is one where it is taken for a test drive - you need to understand German to know what they are talking about. Not sure if I like it though.
