They may feel that we are infidels and heathens for allowing (accidentally or not) the Koran to be burned.

A gulf of cultural ignorance divides us. I don't profess to understand it, I only understand that it exists.

I am certain however, that regardless of culture or religion, the majority of human beings will be reviled by the desecration of gravestones. Respect for the dead transcends culture and forms part of the very core of human decency.

Benghazi War Cemetery to be fully restored

It’s now reported from Benghazi that two Commonwealth War Graves cemeteries have been damaged in attacks over the weekend – both the Benghazi War Cemetery and now the Benghazi British Military Cemetery. We are awaiting a detailed report but in both cemeteries, headstones were broken and disfigured. Both cemeteries will be restored to a standard befitting the sacrifice of those commemorated at Benghazi, but this could take some time because we will need to source replacement stones. We will also need to be sure that it’s safe for the detailed work to be carried out, but in the meantime we will ensure that temporary markers are erected over the graves. We have no reports of any maintenance staff being injured in the attack.

You picquet people Hymie, not sites. It is a medieval method of military torture. But then again maybe you do want to picquet the perpetrators of the desecration.

The thing that annoys me is that the people in those graves died helping to liberate that country from oppression.
We were never there to Colonise them and the only land we asked for was a place for our dead to Rest In Peace.

chanell 10 are funny , they allow disparaging remarks about our VC recipient to go to air but they wont name the religious element that destroyed the graves
