Yes I probably will but looks like I'll join an international forum too.

    What's your link with ozbenz?

    Cheers,

    Kev.
I'm on ozbenz. Stig0000 is too.
    I have a couple of Mercs. A W109 and W112.
There is a wealth of information on the site and some very passionate Merc owners.
If you find a good International site (a lot I have seen are poorly moderated and have colourful spats), let me know.

Just had a look at ozbenz with the wifes w107 in mind.
Lots of restoration threads that seem to fizzle out a few years back.
You cant see photos if you dont register. Ah well another forum to join.

What we call our Merc Prime Mover is WAY too politically incorrect to put here.
    yep know that feeling
used to drive a 1418 which wasnt too bad considering the age of it (1972 model in 1981) then the company got 3 X 2228 slimlines and yes i cant say on the forum what we thought of these
the only good thing we could say was they were comfortable compared to ACCO 3070 and WHITE ROAD BOSS's

Currently working for a major retailer and the fleet is merc's 4440's with the auto box.
Some of them shift up/down good(I use it in manual mode-the auto mode is crap),but there's a couple of them that are absolutely gutless.
If we get the contract back again(we'll know by Sept) we're apparently getting Scania's.

    cheers

went to the Brisbane truck show last year and there was autos everywhere and computer dash readouts, it was refreshing to hope in the CATERPILLAR truck that had an 18 speed droadranger and comprehensive range of gauges, my comment and a couple of other said aaaahhhh a REAL truck so i dont think the auto's going over too well
